If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Kingston Council as a Senior Finance Business Partner!As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a vital role in supporting budget managers across Kingston Council, enabling them to manage their budgets effectively in a challenging financial environment. You'll be a key point of contact between the finance department and other service areas, providing insightful financial analysis to drive business improvement and change.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality senior finance business partner support to revenue and capital budget managers
Support core financial processes and activities, including financial planning, budgeting, monitoring, and year-end processes.
Challenge and support services to manage key financial risks and protect the financial health of the Council.
Work collaboratively with Strategic Finance Business Partners to ensure key financial risks are appropriately reflected in medium-term financial plans.
Provide financial support to service-led projects and business change activities.
Analyze and interpret financial and non-financial information to provide clear and concise communication and advice.
About You:
Part-qualified CCAB accountant or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Experience in delivering high-quality finance services in a large organization.
Proven experience in a customer-focused environment, achieving successful outcomes in service delivery.
Strong IT skills, including Google applications, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis software.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience supporting budget managers through core finance processes.
Knowledge of the operational context of Local Authorities.
Desirable:
Relevant professional qualification (e.g., AAT, CIPFA, CIMA) or studying towards it.
Experience leading or providing financial support to change programs and business improvement initiatives.
Experience providing business partner support in a Local Authority context.
Experience working with pooled budgets or cost-sharing arrangements.
