Our client is a growing London bank with an excellent reputation and excellent team environment where everybody counts towards the banks success. They have a newly created role due to growth and expansion to join their dynamic corporate banking team. They are looking for an experienced relationship manager to be responsible for managing and developing relationships with clients across the whole of the Scandinavian region. The primary objective will be to drive business growth and increase market share in these key markets, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 7 years banking experience
  • Must have a strong background in credit analysis, specifically in Scandinavian investment-grade corporate and structured finance for Scandinavian corporates and team-working ability.
  • A good knowledge of UK corporate credit, trade finance and (some) banks/financial institutions experience
  • Proven experience in working with Scandinavian investment-grade corporate clients, with a strong understanding of their financial needs and market dynamics.
  • Good university degree

THE ROLE
This role is key in driving and enhancing the banks presence in the Scandinavian market by providing tailored financial solutions and building long-term client partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking in London. Apart from managing client relationships, executing complex deals, and identifying growth opportunities within the region's corporate banking sector. Additionally, when required you will also assist the team with the UK or Irish market.  The role may require travel to different Scandinavian countries on occasions. The role consists of the following: 

Client Relationship Management:

  • Support the Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Financial Institutions and Trade Finance to develop and manage on a day-to-day basis both potential new customer targets and existing customers to meet assigned financial and non-financial targets.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of Scandinavian investment-grade corporate clients, focusing on building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored banking solutions.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to discuss financing solutions, deal structuring, and credit terms.
  • Represent the Bank at events, client gatherings, and networking opportunities to enhance the banks visibility in the Scandinavian market.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships while identifying new business opportunities in the Scandinavian corporate sector.
  • Deal with and resolve customer problems and requirements in coordination with appropriate in-house and external support functions to ensure timely, friendly, and accurate delivery of the banks products and services.
  • Support the Head of Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions and Trade Finance in negotiating and documenting facilities for clients.
  • Prepare reports for our Head office or as requested.

Credit Analysis and Deal Structuring:

  • To initiate and write credit applications in support of, do KYC for, and to document and liaise with Loans Admin in respect of new corporate loans and guarantees in Scandinavia and create related annual and semi-annual credit reviews.
  • To initiate and liaise with Treasury and perform KYC for any new Scandinavian corporate deposits.
  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis and financial assessments of corporate clients, focusing on investment-grade companies in the Scandinavian region.
  • Structure and execute complex financing deals, including structured finance transactions, term loans, and syndicated loans.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, including financial modelling, risk analysis, and due diligence, for presentation to the credit committee.

Market Analysis and Business Development:

  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes in the Scandinavian region to identify business opportunities.
  • Develop strategies to expand market share and enhance the banks product offerings tailored to corporate clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product teams and credit risk teams, to develop customized financial solutions for clients.

Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions

  • Help discharge Corporate Banking's first line of defence obligations and procedures to prevent financial crime.
