Job Title: Head of Strategy, Treasury & Pensions

Location: London 

The London Borough of Bexley is seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to join our Finance and Corporate Services team as Head of Strategy, Treasury & Pensions. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the financial future of our borough.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of the Council's financial strategy, capital strategy, and medium-term financial plan
• Manage the budget setting process for both revenue and capital
• Oversee the outsourced Treasury operation and Pension Fund accounting
• Lead on Treasury and Pension strategies development
• Manage relationships with committees, actuaries, advisors, and fund managers
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for pension scheme investments

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Full qualification from a professional accounting body
• Extensive experience in local government finance
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• In-depth knowledge of treasury management and pension fund operations
