THE COMPANY

Our client is a globally recognised independent investment and wealth management firm, boasting a workforce of over 500 professionals across 11 nations. Their expertise extends to advising on investment funds and assets exceeding £40 billion. They have a new role which is responsible for the complete month end close process of a number of international entities. Including the preparation of financial records under IFRS, financial statements, preparing and submitting relevant tax filings and providing financial information to stakeholders across the Group, enabling them to make budgeting and investments decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) with financial services experience is essential
  • Strong Proficiency in IFRS and strong technical accounting skills / knowledge is essential
  • Experience understanding multi-jurisdictional accounting and tax understanding is an advantage
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (macro-level, including Power Pivot and Power BI would be an advantage)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and logical approach to tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective relationships and drive change
  • Collaborative team player

THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Financial Accounting Manager, the role involves close liaison with members of the Group Finance team as well as the treasury team. Key Responsibilities include the following

  • Perform month end closes, including journals and reconciliations to treasury management systems
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
  • Complete bank reconciliations for the bank accounts of specific entities on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure that the cash records are correct
  • Prepare the monthly accruals and provision journals
  • Preparing the supporting balance sheet reconciliations for all the balance sheet balances
  • Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation including IFRS
  • Liaise with the Dealing and Treasury trading team
  • Liaise with treasury management suppliers regarding changes or updates that could impact the financial reporting of the business
  • Liaise with the accounts payable team to ensure that accruals and prepayments are booked correctly each month
  • Completion of regulatory returns
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts
  • Liaison with auditors
  • Respond to ad hoc financial queries by gathering and interpreting data
  • Prepare board report packs including financial analysis and commentary
  • Assist as the Group Finance representative with the effective implementation of a new wealth management platform and interface with the accounting system
