The London Borough of Bexley is seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to join our Finance and Corporate Services team as Head of Strategy, Treasury & Pensions. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the financial future of our borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of the Council's financial strategy, capital strategy, and medium-term financial plan
Manage the budget setting process for both revenue and capital
Oversee the outsourced Treasury operation and Pension Fund accounting
Lead on Treasury and Pension strategies development
Manage relationships with committees, actuaries, advisors, and fund managers
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for pension scheme investments
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Full qualification from a professional accounting body
Extensive experience in local government finance
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
In-depth knowledge of treasury management and pension fund operations
