Context and Description:

The role is based within the Global Accounting and Financial Management (A&FM) team. The goal of the A&FM team is to protect the financial and regulatory integrity of the organization. This includes the accurate and timely delivery of all financial, regulatory, tax, and financial management reports. Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), statutory standards, and adhering to our tax regulatory/transfer pricing framework is part of our core responsibilities.

Objectives:

The successful candidate will serve as the lead accountant for three European corporate entities and branches (Switzerland, Ireland Ltd, and UK Branch) and will be predominantly responsible for management and statutory accounts, tax, and regulatory reporting.

Tasks:

- Lead accountant and finance manager for management and statutory accounts, tax, and local regulatory reporting for Switzerland, UK Branch, and Ireland Limited.

- Process-related day-to-day activities, such as:

- Perform validation and control on accounting entries performed by our service provider.

- Ensure timely and accurate closure of month-end accounts including P&L variance analysis and balance sheet substantiation.

- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements along with coordinating and assisting with year-end audit for Switzerland.

- Oversee preparation of Irish entity financial statements and assist with audit.

- Prepare board meeting slides for Switzerland quarterly board meetings.

- Assist with data collection and preparation of regulatory returns.

- Assist and liaise with tax service providers to ensure accurate calculation and timely submission and payment of taxes (VAT, Corporation Tax, Staff Benefit Tax, and other compliance taxes).

- Ensure timely posting and payment of payroll.

- Act as liaison and representative of the accounting and financial management function with internal and external stakeholders.

Major Deliverables:

1. Perform validation and control on accounting entries performed by our service provider.

2. Ensure timely and accurate closure of month-end and year-end accounts.

3. Prepare annual financial statements for Switzerland.

4. Oversee audit of Switzerland and Ireland Ltd.

5. Ensure all tax returns are completed and submitted within the legal deadline.

6. Ensure all regulatory returns are completed and submitted within the legal deadline.

Knowledge/Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study.

- ACCA/ACA or other relevant certification.

- Ideally 3+ years of relevant professional experience as a Finance Controller/Financial Accountant.

- Strong knowledge of IFRS; knowledge of German and/or Swiss GAAP is desirable but not essential.

- Strong technology skills, especially with MS Office and SAP.

- Highly analytical, diligent, detail-oriented, and strong business acumen.

- Experience with offshore shared service centres is a plus.
